Why Does My Coffee Taste Sour? Quick Fix Guide

Sure, somethings taste great sour.  But coffee isn't one of them.  If you've ever asked yourself 'why does my coffee taste sour?,' take heart dear reader.  You are not alone; this is not uncommon.  Fortunately, there are some easy quick fixes.  Here you go!

Sour Tasting Coffee Quick Fix Guide

  1. Check water temperature. Make sure it’s 195–205°F.
  2. Adjust grind size. Go slightly finer if using pour-over or drip.
  3. Brew a little longer. Add 15–20 seconds to extraction time.
  4. Review your ratio. Stick to 1:15–1:17.
  5. Let beans rest. Don’t brew beans roasted yesterday — most of our coffees taste great two to four weeks past roast!

It's a good day to have a good day, happy brewing!
