The Story Behind the Beans
Coffee has always been part of José's story.
Growing up in a coffee-farming family in Colombia, José learned the value of hard work from an early age. As a young man, however, he chose a different path and spent many years traveling throughout Colombia as a bus driver.
After decades on the road, he felt called back to his roots.
José and his wife, Francy Helena Inga, purchased Finca El Casino in Sinaí, Palestina, where they now carefully manage their 10-hectare farm together. Five hectares are planted with exceptional coffee varieties including Caturra, Pink Bourbon, Gesha, and Tabi, allowing them to produce coffees with remarkable character and complexity.
But their passion extends beyond coffee.
José and Francy have a special place in their hearts for abandoned dogs. Over the years, they've opened their farm and home to dozens of dogs in need, giving them a safe place to live alongside the coffee trees. Their kindness reflects the same care and compassion they pour into every harvest.
At Finca El Casino, coffee isn't simply a crop—it's a way of caring for people, animals, and the land that makes it all possible.

Every exceptional cup begins long before the roasting process.
The unique climate and fertile mountains of Colombia provide ideal growing conditions, allowing coffee cherries to mature slowly and develop rich, balanced flavors. Combined with José and Francy's years of experience, each harvest reflects careful attention from planting through picking.
By cultivating several renowned coffee varieties—including the celebrated Pink Bourbon and Gesha—Finca El Casino produces coffees that showcase Colombia's incredible diversity while maintaining outstanding consistency from season to season.
Once the coffee reaches our roastery, we roast it in small batches to highlight its natural sweetness and bring out the flavors that make Colombian coffee loved around the world.
