This coffee comes to us from Roger Dominguez, a producer from Marcala Honduras. We had the opportunity to meet Roger at the 2025 SCA Coffee Expo in Houston TX. While discussing our background in farming with Roger and his brother Abel, we learned a lot about their growing techniques and processing method. Roger is a young producer who inherited his father’s midsize farms, which came into the family in the early 1990s. He has three parcels of land in Marcala, all between 3–5 hectares, at good altitude for the region, above 1,300 meters. He grows a small variety of heirloom types, mostly Bourbon, Catuai, and Caturra, and he’s specific about his wet-milling and drying.
This offering is a natural process Catuai and in the cup we find notes of fresh cranberry, toffee, and caramel flavors with tart acidity and fruit-like sweetness. Everything is balanced nicely, and we find this is a great sipping coffee.
